Meditation - What are the benefits?
How do you Meditate? What are the benefits? Should we really bother?
Meditation makes one a clear channel to receive divine spiritual communication/information. It attunes us to our higher selves and divine vibration. It calms, centers us and brings peace so we can access our inner world. Regular meditation will manifest outwardly in being very intuitive and just knowing. It manifests in being more aligned with your path and good synchronicities happening for you! It heals your mind body and spirit too and again allows one to receive more divine information. It also helps your kundalini energy rise to higher states, thus helping ones spiritual evolution.

Meditation is a wonderful gift that the universe has offered us for many reasons...to get in touch with our higher selves, to have the ability to listen to god (different than praying to God), to remove ego from our experiences so as not to cloud judgements, to have access to our spirit guides, to lower stress, to heal, and to be more successful in life. All we have to do is make the time for it...and in today's world where we are in a constant rush to get things done, to want the next better and bigger thing, we rarely stop and just enjoy the experience we are presently in...seems we are always concentrating on what we have to do next, and therefore lose meaning in what we are experiencing and learning in that moment. So the first step is making time, a set time every morning or night works best. I am going to discuss a different angle on meditation, as I think the other readers have done a great job at identifying other benefits. I want to address the concept of how our brain waves actually change when we go into meditation, and how this affects our ability to be successful in our daily lives, whether it's with a relationship, a job, attaining more money, etc. I have to give credit to Jose Silva for what I am about to convey, as I did his training, and can say first hand that it really works. For those interested after you read this, google his name and find out more. Back to what I was saying, is that studies show that the most successful business people, athletes, actors/actresses, multimillionaires, etc. perform at their best or make the best choices when their brain waves are where they are when we meditate, which is the alpha level. Normally we operate on the beta level, where we are more alert, less calm and less able to accurately connect with the energy around us. The more we meditate, the more we can adapt ourselves and brains to this level. What is even more exciting is that at the alpha level, we can actually program ourselves to achieve what we want through visualization. They key here to achieving what you want, is to also visualize how it will help others. The theory is, the more people your wish will help, the more likely it is to materialize. I have personally tried this myself and landed a job and fixed a broken relationship. It took a couple months of me starting out with the basic 10 -30 min a day before I started doing the visualizations, but when I did, I was amazed at the results. I passed the concept along to my brother who was out of a job, and started using the method. He had an interview within a week's time. There was a period where I stopped my meditation, as life got busy and my schedule was crazy. I soon felt a negative difference both spiritually and in certain areas that were going on in my life...now I am back on track :) and it is making all the difference. I strongly encourage you all to give it a try...it's well worth it!

I agree with ChelseaDamali that emotions play a big role in our physical health. Meditation and yoga will become more utilized with the changing times as more and more pressures are put on performance, in every area of life. Both adults and children can benefit from any form of meditation, different practices work for different people and lifestyles. Simply relaxing and learning to breath from the belly can be very liberating to someone who is under stress. The internet is full of useful information about learning to calm your inner self. I definitely feel it's worth looking into.

I have found through my intuitive life coaching experience, that if my clients meditate daily, they are able to feel confident in the choices they make to lead them in life to where they want to be. I always give them the choices and the outcome of each choice so they can navigate their lives, but meditation helps solidify that, and aids in putting them in the right frame of mind for manifestation as well. It has health benefits, mental/emotional well-being benefits, manifestation benefits, and can really make an impact on your quality of life. I recommend to my clients that they try to set time aside, morning or night, to meditate daily.

Among the other benefits to meditation, there are the serious health benefits. There is the mind body spirit connection that must be nurtured in order to keep a healthy body. Emotions held in and not properly processed manifest as physical health problems, and this is something that meditation can help. Cancer, heart attacks, strokes... all of it... even tendonitis (yes, really, I said that)... ALL ailments physically can be connected to emotional issues that need to be dealt with. For more information on this, you can pick up a book called "Feelings Buried Alive Never Die." Incredible book, will explain even on a scientific level of why things need to be allowed to process. Meditate every day, or even twice a day if you can!! Yoga is great too! Thai Chi! Blessings to you!
